ABOUT ROSEVILLE
Roseville is an extended 18th century cottage nestled into the green hillside overlooking the picturesque village of Cromford. The house boasts fantastic views on the outside and 4 bedrooms (one of which has an en-suite shower). Off road parking is a minute from the front gate and there is ample space for unloading at the house.
Cromford, known internationally as the birthplace of the industrial revolution, is steeped in history. With independent shops, restaurants and multiple pubs including the historical Greyhound Hotel, it is a destination in its self. The next town along, Matlock Bath, plays host to some fantastic attractions such as Gulliver's Kingdom theme park and the Heights of Abraham cable cars to some of the best views in the country. Called 'little Switzerland' by Lord Byron it is easy to see why when you visit.
WHY CHOOSE ROSEVILLE?
Roseville is a house that mixes truly quaint original features with all that is required for modern living. Built around 1770 Roseville has managed to retain much of what it was built with including exposed beams in the living room and downstairs bedroom along with a large stone fireplace. Even the low doorways are still present in some parts of the house. Going into the living room you really do get a sense of what life was once like.
Mixed with the original features is the modern day extension which was added around 2005. Large windows make the most of the expansive views along with Velux windows to create the light and airy feel that is desired. The dinning area is a perfect place for cosy family meals with its built in wooden furniture that perfectly wraps around the table. The kitchen has a large double oven, dishwasher, washer/drying and even a 'proper' coffee machine that will make a latte at the touch of a button (it will even steam the milk and dispense at the perfect temperature.
The bedrooms are all a good size with three king-size beds and one double. The middle bedroom upstairs has an en-suite shower room too which is a useful addition. There is ample draw space and there are handy extendible rails on the walls that allow for clothes to be hung up without the need for a wardrobe taking up space.
The location of Roseville is fantastic in that it has gorgeous views extending all the way to Black Rocks on the high peak trail. Cromford is a sleepy village at night but the more lively Matlock Bath is the next village along and can be accessed either via a woodland walk starting just behind Roseville or take the less adventurous A6 and follow the winding Derwent river.
Roseville will be very popular with families simply because the Peak district is so close that it can be enjoyed as a short trip but there are lots of great attractions in and around the Matlock area from Children's theme parks and fairs to steam railways and mining museums. There really is something for everyone and Roseville is the perfect lauchpad to soak up all the Peaks and Dales has to offer.
