ABOUT THE OLD POST OFFICE

The Old Post Office was built out of Peak District limestone circa 1840 and, as the name suggests, was previously the village post office for well over 100 years. It wasn't until 2014 that it finally closed due to the retirement of the final post master. It still, however, has a functioning post box built into the wall of the house that was installed during the reign of George V.

The house has 4 king side double bedrooms (one on the ground floor) and a room with a double bed with bunk over. The master has a large en-suite with sunken bath and the second bedroom has a sitting area and wood burning stove. On the lower ground floor is a boot room and access to the garden where you will find a hot tub and plentiful seating options to enjoy an evening beverage.

The Location of the house is simply fantastic with the local pub only a few doors up. If you go one way down the street you come to Cromford, Matlock Bath and Matlock, if you go the other you are into the Peak District do it really does offer the best of both worlds.
